gen 4 preview

BONSLY, CHINGLING, MIME JR.
Welcome, Trainers! In this article, we'll be taking a look at three of the baby Pokémon of this generation: Bonsly, Chingling, and Mime Jr.

BONSLY

  • CATEGORY: Bonsai Pokémon
  • PRONOUNCED: BON-slye
  • TYPE: Rock
  • HEIGHT: 1' 08"
  • WEIGHT: 33.1 lbs.
Picture

ATTACK:  124

DEFENSE:  155

STAMINA:  100

MAX  CP:  1213

Bonsly is the baby form of Sudowoodo. Sudowoodo is currently hatching out of 10KM Eggs, but we expect Bonsly to be downgraded once it is introduced. Our guess is it will hatch from either 5KM or 2KM Eggs.

CHINGLING

  • CATEGORY: Bell Pokémon
  • PRONOUNCED: CHING-ling
  • TYPE: Psychic
  • HEIGHT: 0' 08"
  • WEIGHT: 1.3 lbs.
Picture

ATTACK:  114

DEFENSE:  94

STAMINA:  90

MAX  CP:  861

Chingling is the baby form of Chimecho. Chimecho is currently a very-rare 10KM hatch. We expect Chingling will be hatching from an Egg tier with a shorter distance, and possibly more commonly than Chimecho was.

MIME  JR

  • CATEGORY: Mime Pokémon
  • PRONOUNCED: mime JOO-nyur
  • TYPE: Psychic / Fairy
  • HEIGHT: 2' 00"
  • WEIGHT: 28.7 lbs.
Picture

ATTACK:  125

DEFENSE:  164

STAMINA:  40

MAX  CP:  867

Mime Jr is the baby form of Mr. Mime. We cannot say how Niantic will handle Mime Jr, given the fact that Mr. Mime is a region-exclusive Pokémon. Region exclusives cannot hatch from Eggs and none of them have evolved / pre-evolved forms, making it difficult to see how Mr. Mime can continue as a region exclusive with the existence of Mime Jr. We'll just have to wait and see what Niantic does with Mime Jr.
