Welcome back, Trainers. In this Generation Preparation article, we'll take a look at the Ice-type evolution of Eevee, Glaceon. Let's begin!
CATEGORY: Fresh Snow Pokémon
PRONOUNCED: GLACE-ee-on
TYPE: Ice
HEIGHT: 2' 07"
WEIGHT: 57.1 lbs.
ATTACK: 238
DEFENSE: 212
STAMINA: 130
MAX CP: 2866
Glaceon is one of two new "Eeveelutions" coming in this generation. An Eevee will evolve into Glaceon when in close proximity to the Ice Rock. It's unknown if Niantic will implement this main-series requirement into Pokémon GO.
PLACE IN THE META: Glaceon has the potential to be one of the best Ice-type attackers in the game. Without any secondary typing, it need not worry about any four-times or additional weaknesses. On top of that, its Attack stat is very respectable. On the downside, Glaceon's Stamina stat is lower than ideal.
Glaceon is a pure Ice-type. This makes it weak to Fire-, Rock-, Steel-, and Fighting-type attacks; as well as resistant to Ice-type attacks.
LIKELY MOVEPOOL: Out of the Fast Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Glaceon:
Frost Breath
Ice Shard
Out of the Charged Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Glaceon:
Blizzard
Ice Beam
Icy Wind
Should Niantic add any new moves, the following are good candidates for Glaceon's movepool:
Ice Fang
LOOKING AHEAD: Looking beyond Generation 4, Glaceon gains no evolution, exclusive Z-Move, or Mega Evolution.
