Pokémon GO's troubles are not over! The villainous gang of Team GO Rocket Grunts has found their leader! Giovanni, the head of the various incarnations of Team Rocket, can now be battles in Pokémon GO, as well as three new admins: Cliff, Arlo, and Sierra.
HIDDEN LEADERS
In order to find and battle the three GO Rocket Leaders, you'll need a Rocket Radar. The Rocket Radar item is made from six Mysterious Components, which are new items that Grunts can drop after defeating them in battle. Once you've collected the six pieces and assembled them, you'll be able to scan for Cliff, Arlo, and Sierra.
Once you discover a GO Rocket Leader hiding at a PokéStop, you will battle them like you would a normal Grunt. If you defeat them, you'll get a reward (which can be a Unova Stone). You'll also have an encounter with a Shadow Pokémon. Trainers have reported finding Shiny variants of Shadow Meowth, Shadow Sneasel, and Shadow Scyther.
BATTLE THE BOSS
New Special Research is now live in the game for those who have completed the "A Troubling Situation" storyline from earlier this year. This new Special Research will allow you to obtain the Super Rocket Radar to battle Giovanni. Battling and defeating the Team GO Rocket Boss will earn you an encounter with a Shadow Legendary Pokémon.
A BUDDY ADVENTURE
The latest villainous deeds of Team GO Rocket is not the only news today. Niantic have also announced that a new feature called Buddy Adventure is coming to Pokémon GO in the next few months. This feature seems to be GO's adaptation of Pokémon Amie / Pokémon Refresh / Pokémon Camp from the main-series games.
Buddy Adventure will allow for multiple Pokémon to be placed in an AR environment, even Pokémon belonging to other Trainers. You will be able to pet them, feed them Berries, and take photographs of them.
MISCELLANOUS
Finally, there are also some miscellaneous bits of news to go over from the past few days:
Niantic are allowing small and medium-sized businesses in the United States to apply to become a sponsored location in Pokémon GO.
The rollout of Niantic Wayfarer (the new system to submit PokéStops in GO) is going to rollout soon. Engadget reports this is happening for all Level 40 players next week.
Niantic is looking into adding occlusion to their AR games. This would allow for AR photographers to take pictures of their Pokémon behind other objects.
Another Week in Korea event has been announced. It will take place from November 14 to November 17 in South Korea, bringing special spawns that include Unown and Illumise.
