2. the Weather system is live!
The weather system is live earlier than expected! Weather-boosted spawns give increased Stardust, have a chance for higher IVs, spawn much more frequently, and can be caught at higher levels (up to Level 35).
3. Ho-Oh raids extended, plus new raid bosses
HO-OH RAIDS: Due to a capture glitch, Ho-Oh Raids have been extended. They'll now end on December 14 at 1:00 P.M. PT. Speaking of Ho-Oh, its stats have gone up and down in the past few days. It had its stamina buffed with the release of Generation 3, but it was a mistake. That is according to Trainer Tips. It has been nerfed to the appropriate stats.
NEW RAID BOSSES: We already have more Generation 3 Raid Bosses than Sableye! Mawile has joined Sableye in Tier 2 Raids. Absol has joined Tyranitar in Tier 4 Raids.

4. New shiny Pokemon
The two new Raid Bosses, Mawile and Absol, have had their Shiny variants released. So be on the lookout for oddly-colored variants of these Pokémon when you do those Mawile and Absol Raids.
On top of that, we may see some insanity incoming. The dataminer Chrales has discovered Shiny sprites for Groudon and all of the released Hoenn Pokémon stored on Niantic's server.

5. New regionally-locked Pokemon
So far, there are four new regional Pokémon from Generation 3. Plusle and Zangoose are exclusive to Africa and the Americas. Minun and Seviper are exclusive to Europe, Oceania, and Asia.
Should these one-stage-only, counterpart Pokémon continue to be regionally locked, we may see more regionals from Generation 3. Such Pokémon could include Volbeat and Illumise, as well as Solrock and Lunatone.

7. New GAME_MASTER File and update's other features
Dataminers have discovered some other interesting things in the latest update.
STAR PIECE: The Star Piece is a Stardust-version of a Lucky Egg that gives increased Stardust for 30 minutes. It will be available in the Shop, and it will be, most likely, introduced for the holiday event.
BATTLE UI CHANGE: The battle-system's user-interface has changed. The "Run" button is underneath your Pokémon's health bar. The bar to active your Charged Move has moves to the bottom. A button is above the bar, which activates the attack when it is tapped.
DELIBIRD: Delibird's signature move, Present, is now coded in the game. Delibird will be, without a doubt, released soon.
AR PLUS: When the GAME_MASTER file was updated with the Generation 3 code, some new in-game text was found by Chrales. It refers to an "AR+" feature, which could indicate that the AR Playground feature that was promised long ago could finally become a reality.

8. Holiday event soon
As with all major updates to the game, gaming media sites have done interviews with Niantic officials. Archit Bhargava told TechCrunch that they plan to have the holiday event begin on December 21. No details about the event were given.
9. New Pokemon movie announcement soon
Tomorrow in Japan (which is today in the western side of the world), a Japanese television show is to air the trailer for the upcoming, new Pokémon movie. Serebii's Joe Merrick said it the best: If the new Mythical Pokémon, Zeraora, is featured in the movie, that opens the door for Generation 8 in 2018. If it isn't, we may have a dead-year in between for development.
10. Pnn project
The website has been fully updated with Generation 3. The Pokédex, Egg Chart, and Raid Boss Chart are now all up-to-date and ready for your field-use. Stay tuned for more information about more Generation 3 coverage.
