The Halloween Event was a massive success last year, and it looks like this year's will come close.
NEW SPECIES: Pokémon from the Hoenn region are here! Duskull, Dusclops, Sableye, Shuppet, and Banette are now all spawning in the wild! And any Sableye could be Shiny, so make sure to check! The remaining species will be released in December.
OTHER EFFECTS: Spooky Pokémon (such as Gastly, Houndour, Misdreavus, and Cubone) are spawning at increased rates until November 2. Double Candy through all methods (excluding Rare Candy) and special gift boxes (which aren't great deals) are available during this time.
2. New waves of EX Raids
At noon on Friday there was a wave of EX Raids (finally) that allowed more Trainers to get Mewtwo. Another wave of passes were sent out later in the week. That Raid wave will take place on October 27 at 12:00 P.M. With the recent nerf of Ho-Oh's stats, some or all of the new EX Raids might be Ho-Oh. We are waiting on confirmation by Niantic for this.
3. Ultra sun & Ultra moon update
Although we received no new trailer this week (probably not to overshadow the Halloween Event in Pokémon GO), we did receive news from interviews with high-ranking members of the Pokémon Company.
LEGENDARY WORMHOLES: Similar to the way Legendaries were included in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire through Hoopa's portals, Trainers will be able to encounter some Legendary Pokémon through Ultra Wormholes. At the moment, Mewtwo is the only Legendary confirmed.
MOVE TUTORS: Move tutors, something many fans have been waiting for, are now confirmed for Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon. They'll be paid for using points gained on Mantine Surf.
END OF AN ERA: The interviews this week also confirmed the speculation that UItra Sun and Ultra Moon will be the final Pokémon games for the Nintendo 3DS. Although this upset many fans who do not own a Nintendo Switch, it will be better for the Generation 8 games to have better hardware to work on. Pokémon games can only improve!
ULTRA-SUN EXCLUSIVES: Via a Japanese poster, we have confirmation of which Pokémon will be exclusive to Pokémon Ultra Sun. The following Pokémon and Ultra Beasts fall into this category: - Dusk Mane Necrozma - Houndour, Houndoom - Tirtouga, Carracosta - Rufflet, Braviary - Kartana - Buzzwole - Cranidos, Rampardos - Turtonator - UB Burst - Passimian - Cottonee, Whimsicott - Alolan Vulpix, Alolan Ninetales
ULTRA-MOON EXCLUSIVES: The same poster also revealed the exclusives for Pokémon Ultra Moon.
