The annual Halloween event is now live in Pokémon GO until November 1 at 1:00 PM PDT. This event features increased spawns of Ghost-type and Dark-type Pokémon, including the newly-added Drifloon and Stunky. Catch Candy is doubled, and there is new Special Research. This Special Research is the only way to get Spiritomb, and must be started during the event if you wish to continue it afterwards.

The Mythical Pokémon Meltan, which will be released in Pokémon GO and Pokémon: Let's Go once the Switch titles release in November, can evolve! The Evolution is named Melmetal. Meltan will only evolve into Melmetal in Pokémon GO for 400 Candy, which can then be sent to Let's Go. SOURCE: The Pokémon Company
3. SHEDINJA RESEARCH
The Legendary Water-type Pokémon Suicune is leaving Research Breakthroughs on November 1, 2018, at 1:00 PM PDT. It will be replaced with the unreleased Bug-type Pokémon Shedinja.
Shedinja has been unreleased until now seemingly because of the game's lack of Abilities. In order for Shedinja to properly function with its one and only Hit Point, it has relied on its Wonder Guard Ability. This Ability only allowed super-effective attacks to do damage to Shedinja in the main-series.
It is unclear if the pre-evolution to Shedinja, Nincada, and Shedinja's evolutionary counterpart, Ninjask, will be released alongside of Shedinja. It's also unclear if a new Spinda variant will be released as one has over the past three months. What is clear, however, is that Shiny Caterpie will be made available. SOURCE: Niantic
4. GENGAR DAY
Another special Raid day has been announced. Similarly to the Raid days we had for the Legendary Birds over the summer, Gengar will be in Raids for three hours on November 3. Shiny Gengar will be released, and each Gengar caught will know the exclusive moveset of Lick and Psychic. SOURCE: Niantic
5. ADVENTURE SYNC
A new feature was announced for Pokémon GO this week: Adventure Sync. This feature, which gained support in a new update released a few days ago, allows distance to be tracked when the app is idle. This requires either Apple Health or Google Fit to work, and is not yet live. SOURCE: Niantic
6. COMMUNITY DAY
The next Community Day, which takes place on November 10, will feature the Fire-type Pokémon Cyndaquil. The event also has three-hour Lures, double catch XP, and double catch Stardust. SOURCE: Niantic
