Niantic has just announced that Groudon and Kyogre are returning to Raid Battles for a limited time! From today until March 5, all three of the Weather Trio will be hatching out of Legendary Raid Eggs!
There is also a challenge involved! If Rayquaza is the Pokémon that was caught the most, Flying, Psychic, and Dragon-type Pokémon will hatch more often. If Groudon and Kyogre are caught more, Grass, Ground, Fire, Water, Bug, and Electric-type Pokémon will hatch more often.
To help with this event, Niantic is running another sale. This sale, which starts on February 24, will feature Raid Passes.
IMPLICATIONS: Niantic also announced that this is one of the tie-ins to the Pokémon Company's Year of Legendary Pokémon. From this, we believe that the Legendary Beasts, the Legendary Birds, Ho-Oh, and Lugia will all get encores this year.
April is the month where Entei and Raikou are being distributed for the mainstream games, so we expect them to return to Pokémon GO sometime during the month. Suicune will likely join them.
Ho-Oh and Lugia will be distributed in November. This duo and / or the Legendary Birds will likely return to Raid Battles sometime in this month.
What a great year it is shaping up to be! Thanks for reading, Trainers!
