Welcome to Generation Preparation, Trainers! We are continuing our look into the soon-to-come Alolan forms with our analysis of Alolan Grimer and Muk. Let's begin!
GRIMER
attack: 135 |
defense: 90 |
stamina: 160 |
max cp: 1269 |
Like with its Kantonian cousin, Alolan Grimer is expected to take 50 Candy to evolve and be found in 5KM Eggs. Grimer is different from those cousins after it was exposed to new toxins after eating garbage in the Alola Region.
MUK
attack: 190 |
defense: 184 |
Stamina: 210 |
max cp: 2709 |
PLACE IN THE META: Alolan Muk definitely has the stats and typing to make it somewhat viable, but it may not become so immediately. It might be a viable Dark-type, at least until Generation 4 comes out. As a Poison-type, however, Alolan Muk has some greater potential.
The Poison-type is not common in the Pokémon GO metagame currently, but it is predicted to be in the future. With the addition of more powerful Fairy-types in Generation 3 (namely Gardevoir) and in the upcoming generations, the Poison-type will likely creep its way into relevancy. With that said, Alolan Muk's part Dark-typing makes it take more damage from moves like Dazzling Gleam than Kantonian Muk. But Alolan Muk will, if it gets the best moves, become a decent Fairy-type counter for sure.
Alolan Muk is a Poison-type and a Dark-type. This means that Alolan Muk will only take super-effective damage from Ground-type attacks. Alolan Muk resists Grass-, Dark-, Ghost-, and Poison-type attacks, and is "immune" to Psychic-type attacks.
LIKELY MOVEPOOL: Out of the Fast Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Alolan Muk:
Out of the Charged Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Alolan Muk:
Should Niantic add any new moves, the following are good candidates for Alolan Muk's movepool:
