Earlier this week, Pokémon executives held a press conference. In this semi-annual briefing, they touched on all aspects of the Pokémon franchise. From movies to merchandise and from console games to mobile games, we got at least a small update on all of them. Here's a quick recap of the key points.
POKEMON HOME
First, we have the unveiling of Pokémon HOME. HOME is a Pokémon storage utility for both Nintendo Switch and mobile. This app will act as a hub for Pokémon brought in from the 3DS's Pokémon Bank; mobile's Pokémon GO; and the Switch's Pokémon: Let's Go!, Pokémon Sword, and Pokémon Shield.
POKEMON SLEEP
Second, we have a somewhat odd new initiative from The Pokémon Company. They touted Pokémon GO's success of bringing Pokémon into the real world and making walking a form of entertainment. Now, TPC is trying to make another real-world action into Pokémon fun: sleeping.
Pokémon Sleep is an app that tracks the amount of time you sleep each night and translates that into gameplay. Sleep utilizes a new device: The Pokémon GO Plus+. The GO Plus+ is a sleep tracker that also functions as a Pokémon-catcher and PokéStop-spinner in Pokémon GO.
Pokémon GO is also getting in on the nap-time fun. Snorlax in a special sleeping pose is now spawning in increased numbers across the globe. Snorlax caught also know the special move Yawn. This tie-in event will end on June 3, 2019.

DETECTIVE PIKACHU 2
Third, a sequel to the Nintendo 3DS game Detective Pikachu was announced for Nintendo Switch. This game will continue the narrative from the original game, but will differ from that of the POKÉMON: Detective Pikachu movie (which also has a sequel in the works, The Hollywood Reporter reports).
POKEMON MASTERS
Fourth and finally, we have another new Pokémon mobile game. Pokémon Masters, being developed by TPC and DeNA, allows you to battle iconic and powerful Pokémon Trainers. These include Misty, Steven, Cynthia, Brock, and more.
That's all the news from the Pokémon press conference. Don't forget that more information about Pokémon Sword and Shield is coming in a Pokémon Direct on June 5 at 9:00 AM EDT. Thanks for reading, Trainers!
