ALOLAN DIGLETT, ALOLAN DUGTRIO
Niantic announced last week that Alolan Diglett and Dugtrio will first appear at Pokémon GO Fest 2018. So what will they be like in Pokémon GO? Well, this article is meant to answer that question. Let's begin!

DIGLETT

  • CATEGORY: Mole Pokémon
  • PRONOUNCED: DIG-let
  • TYPE: Ground / Steel
  • HEIGHT: 0' 08"
  • WEIGHT: 2.2 lbs.

ATTACK:  108

DEFENSE:  89

STAMINA:  20

MAX  CP:  463

The Alolan variants of Diglett and Dugtrio have gained the Steel-typing by borrowing around in the volcanic ground of the Alola Region. That land is full of a metallic, wirelike substance that has been caught in Diglett and Dugtrio's fur and become whiskers.

DUGTRIO

  • CATEGORY: Mole Pokémon
  • PRONOUNCED: dug-TREE-oh
  • TYPE: Ground / Steel
  • HEIGHT: 2' 04"
  • WEIGHT: 146.8 lbs.

ATTACK:  201

DEFENSE:  148

STAMINA:  70

MAX  CP:  1587

PLACE IN THE META: We'll keep this as short as possible. Alolan Dugtrio, just like its Kantonian counterpart, will be useless. No form of Dugtrio will save it from its terrible stats.

Alolan Dugtrio is a Ground-type and a Steel-type. This means that it is weak to Fire-, Fighting-, Water-, and Ground-type attacks. It is resistant to Normal-, Psychic-, Bug-, Dragon-, Flying-, Fairy-, and Steel-type attacks, and highly-reistant to Rock-type attacks.

LIKELY MOVEPOOL: Out of the Fast Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Alolan Dugtrio:
  • Mud Slap
  • Sucker Punch

Out of the Charged Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Alolan Dugtrio:
  • Bulldoze
  • Dig
  • Earthquake
  • Flash Cannon
  • Iron Head
  • Stone Edge

Should Niantic add any new moves, the following are good candidates for Alolan Dugtrio's movepool:
  • Stomping Tantrum
