v0.67.1 has begun rolling out and The Silph Road and GO Hub have done their due diligence in datamining it (try saying that five times fast). All of their finds will be highlighted here, and, there are a lot of them!
2. battle teams
It is unclear whether this will launch along with the rework, but assigning Pokémon to custom teams has appeared in the coding. Three coding features refer to this. First is "LAST_USED_TEAM," which would allow Trainers to easily select the last six Pokémon used in a Gym. Second is "TEAM_NAME_MAX_LENGTH," which suggests that teams can be named. Finally is "BATTLE_TEAM_PREFERENCE_KEY," suggesting teams may be able to be marked as favorite.
3. maximum Pokemon deployed?
A piece of code called "MAX_PLAYER_TOTAL_DEPLOYED_POKEMON" has been added. This could be to prevent things like Trainers deploying multiple of one species or exceeding a certain amount of Gyms held at one time, although this is uncertain.
4. legendary battles
Legendary Pokémon now have more code than just their movesets. Two player stats, "NUM_LEGENDARY_BATTLE_WON" and "NUM_LEGENDARY_BATTLE_TOTAL," have appeared. Also, a Legendary Raid Ticket and Legendary Medal now have coding. An error message called "ERROR_LEGENDARY_POKEMON" has been coded.
So, lets speculate. It seems that Legendaries will be obtained via a Raid Battle. From Niantic's past statements, Legendaries will be distributed in events. Putting the two together, it seems that event attendees will receive a special item to trigger a Legendary Raid Battle. Also, based on the error message, it seems that Trainers will be unable to leave Legendaries as defenders in Gyms. GO Fest Chicago attendees may just have a lot more to look forward to now.
GO Hub has also discovered graphics for a Legendary Medal, featuring a picture of Lugia, as well as a special, Legendary Raid Egg.

5. healing from inside a gym
Similar to the feature that allows for the purchase of PokéBalls from the capture screen, Potions and Revives can be applied from inside the Gym (before the battle begins) without having to exit the Gym to travel to the Item Menu.
6. berries
Three regular Berries and one deluxe Berry are now in Pokémon GO. There will now be a Berries Fed Badge and a tutorial for the four Berries. Four error messages ("Wrong Team," "Wrong Count," "Too Fast," and "Too Frequent") have also been added. Berry-feeding may have complicated mechanics, so it's good that Niantic is including a tutorial.
7. A new medal tier
Before this update medals have had three tiers: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. A pre-tier has been added. The Vanilla tier has been added before the Bronze.
8. premier ballsBased on a series of factors, Premier Balls will be awarded at the end of a Raid Battle to help catch the "powerful Pokémon of your own." From what has been found, these awarded balls are the ONLY PokéBalls you'll be allowed to use to capture the powerful Pokémon, so don't slack off in Raid Battles. The factors are the following: Base of PokéBalls, contribution in the Raid, Team contribution in the Raid, Gym ownership, Team's damage percentage, and the mysterious "Bonus Item Multiplier."

9. arena placement (graphics) and gym messages
As The Silph Road put it, a lot of "fancy" code has been put into place so that large Pokémon like Snorlax, Feraligatr, and Muk do not intrude on the space of other defenders.
Messages from your team's leader will appear to let you know when a defender is sent home with coins, wins a battle, needs a pick-me-up, etc.

10. raid lobbies
"Lobbies" are the waiting rooms for Raid Battles. Public and private lobbies are coded, although there are a lack of details for private lobbies. There is also a "No lobbies available" error message.
11. gym badge map
A map will be available to locate all the Gyms that you have Badges for. Badges can also be sorted by Name, Defending, and Score.
12. gym badge loot
Defeated Pokémon will be returned with a loot of PokéCoins. Having your team own the Gym and having a higher score in a Gym Badge will increase the loot.
