Yesterday, the trading system (and more) went live. And let's just say it didn't go over well. We'll be rounding up all of the trading news here.
ALOLAN FORMS: We have some new Alolan forms in the game! Via the new 7KM Eggs, the Alolan Grimer, Vulpix, Sandshrew, and Meowth families are now available. Alolan Exeggutor is now spawning in the wild again, but at more reasonable spawn rates than during the Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee! promotion.
There have been no reports of Alolan Marowak or Alolan Raichu in the wild. The Alolan forms of Geodude, Diglett, and (interestingly) Rattata have not been reported coming out of 7KM Eggs. None of the available Alolan variants have been reported to be able to be Shiny.
SOLROCK & LUNATONE: The region-exclusive Pokémon Solrock and Lunatone have switched places in honor of the Summer Solstice. Solrock is now found in the same region as Zangoose and Volbeat, and Lunatone is now found in the same region as Seviper and Illumise.
NEW RAIDS: Regice is now the Legendary Raid Boss around the world in Pokémon GO. Niantic have confirmed that the Iceberg Pokémon will be in Tier 5 Raids until June 19. Regirock and Registeel will be released later in the summer.
There are also a variety of new regular Raid Bosses, including the return of the possibly-Shiny Aerodactyl. The Raid Boss Chart will soon be updated with the reported changes.
TRADING: Around noon PDT yesterday, the trading feature went live. But the community was outraged to learn that the feature was exclusive to Level 40 Trainers on launch because of a testing phase. Fortunately, the minimum level was quickly dropped to Level 30.
Trading's Stardust requirements are much more reasonable than Niantic led us to believe. Reports indicate that Shiny, Legendary, and not-yet-in-the-Pokédex (which includes different forms) Pokémon cost a maximum 20,000 Stardust. For Shiny Pokémon or Legendary Pokémon that one or both traders do not have, the maximum cost is a whopping 1,000,000 Stardust. All other regular trades are 100 Stardust.
