Porygon-Z is the evolved form of Porygon2. In the main-series games, Porygon2 needs an item called the Dubious Disc to evolve into Porygon-Z. It's unknown if Niantic will add this item for Porygon-Z, but we wouldn't be surprised if they did.

PLACE IN THE META:
The Normal-type is not a very useful type, as it is not super-effective against any other type. With that in mind, Porygon-Z may not be as useful as it could be. However, its Attack stat is respectable, meaning it could prove to be a good DPS counter.

Porygon-Z is a pure Normal-type. This means it is highly-resistant to Ghost-type attacks, and weak to Fighting-type attacks.

LIKELY MOVEPOOL: Out of the Fast Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Porygon-Z:
  • Charge Beam
  • Hidden Power
  • Tackle

Out of the Charged Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Porygon-Z:
  • Hyper Beam
  • Ice Beam
  • Shadow Ball
  • Solar Beam
  • Thunderbolt
  • Zap Cannon

Should Niantic add any new moves, the following are good candidates for Porygon-Z's movepool:
  • Giga Impact
  • Tri Attack

LOOKING AHEAD: Looking beyond Generation 4, Porygon-Z gains no evolution, exclusive Z-Move, or Mega Evolution.
Thanks for reading, Trainers!
