During the Zapdos Day event in the Americas, a new update was released for Pokémon GO. Version 0.111.2 brings some much-needed improvements for players' quality-of-life, plus some very interesting code previewing new updates.
NEARBY RAIDS: When looking at the Raids tab on your nearby list, you can now see how much time remains on ongoing Raids. Additionally, you can now scroll down on the Raids tab when there are more than six Raids nearby.
SEARCH BAR: When looking at your Pokémon inventory, you are now able to search for Pokémon that are traded.
FRIENDS LIST: You can now, finally, sort your friends list! Praise be to Arceus! Unfortunately, the new feature stops short of a search bar of the friends list. Additionally, you now have the ability to assign custom nicknames to your friends.
GIFT CHANGES: If you do not wish to send a Gift from a location, you now have the ability to delete it. Speaking of Gifts, Stardust is now a possible reward from a Gift, and all Gifts will give 200XP when sent out.
NEW PINAP BERRY: The first thing discovered under the surface of the update was a metallic-looking Pinap Berry. This special Pinap Berry's exact name and function is still unknown, although it seems reasonable to believe it will function similarly to Golden Razz Berries. Time will only tell what the silver / platinum Pinap Berry does.
EVENT TEASES: Some graphical assets were found, in addition to the metallic-looking Pinap Berry. The first of which is a check-in icon. The second of which is a new event badge. Both of these are most likely for the upcoming Pokémon GO Safari Zone in Yokosuka, Japan.
LUCKY POKÉMON: The final thing we have to tell you about is a new classification of Pokémon known as Lucky Pokémon. From what we can tell, it appears these Pokémon have something to do with trading. Additionally, it would seem that these Pokémon require zero Stardust to power up. Do note that this information is only preliminary, and could change once the feature actually becomes available.
Thanks for reading, Trainers.
UPDATE: Some of Pokémon GO's Twitter accounts have posted an image of Lucky Pokémon. This image does not come with any sort of informative caption, but the actual image shows something important; Lucky Pokémon require 50% Stardust to power-up, not 0%.
