Welcome, Trainers, to our pre-release analysis of the Verdant Pokémon, Leafeon. Let's begin!
ATTACK: 216 |
DEFENSE: 254 |
STAMINA: 130 |
MAX CP: 2849 |
Leafeon is the second of the two new "Eeveelutions" coming in the fourth generation. An Eevee will evolve into Leafeon when in close proximity to the Mossy Rock. It is unknown if Niantic will implement this main-series requirement into Pokémon GO.
PLACE IN THE META: Leafeon's position in the metagame is unclear. It has good stats, yes, but it's more defensively-focused than offensively. This, combined with the forecasted dominance of Tangrowth on the Grass-type plane, is expected to make Leafeon's viability be decreased. That's not to say it will be bad, but other Pokémon are expected to be better (although rankings cannot be definitively stated until movepools of the new Grass-types are unveiled).
Leafeon is a pure Grass-type. This makes it weak to Fire-, Ice-, Poison-, Flying-, and Bug-type attacks; as well as resistant to Ground-, Water-, Grass-, and Electric-type attacks.
LIKELY MOVEPOOL: Out of the Fast Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Leafeon:
Out of the Charged Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Leafeon:
Should Niantic add any new moves, the following are good candidates for Leafeon's movepool:
LOOKING AHEAD: Looking beyond Generation 4, Leafeon gains no evolution, exclusive Z-Move, or Mega Evolution.
