Last time, we examined Woobat and Swoobat's potential in Pokémon GO. But now it is time we descend from our flight and start digging into what Drilbur and Excadrill will likely be like in GO.

PLACE IN THE META: We've discussed the potential of quite a few Unova Pokémon so far. And even though we still have many more to go, we have unfortunately not come across any astounding Pokémon that stand out among the weak. Excadrill may be the first.
Excadrill is reminiscent of the fourth generation's Rampardos and Mamoswine. Its Attack stat is very high, while its poor defensive stats turn it into a glass cannon. While that means it won't be able to be a star in Trainer Battles, this does shape it up to be a dominator in the Raiding scene.
While the moves Niantic chooses to give it will play a role in its effectiveness, its Attack stat beats out or comes close to Ground-type powerhouses like Garchomp, Rhyperior, and Groudon. It also does this for Steel-types Metagross and Jirachi. get ready for this mole of a DPS machine!
LIKELY MOVEPOOL: Out of the Fast Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Excadrill:
Out of the Charged Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Excadrill:
Should Niantic add any new moves, the following are good candidates for Excadrill's movepool:
LOOKING AHEAD: Looking beyond Generation 5, Excadrill gains no evolution, exclusive Z-Move, or Mega Evolution that is known of at this time.
