GEN 5 PREVIEW

But generation five ditched the the plump egg-carriers for the big-eared Audino. While it may be effective at healing Pokémon, will Audino be effective in battle in Pokémon GO?

PLACE IN THE META: Audino, unfortunately, will not follow in its footsteps of its Pokédex predecessor, Excadrill, nor its regional counterparts, Chansey and Blissey. This Pokémon just does not have the stats needed to be a battler. It could find some use in Great League if it is fortunate, but this Pokémon will be more useful if it stays with Nurse Joy to help out in her Pokémon Centers.

LIKELY MOVEPOOL: Out of the Fast Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Audino:
  • Charge Beam
  • Pound

Out of the Charged Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Audino:
  • Dazzling Gleam
  • Last Resort
  • Shadow Ball

Should Niantic add any new moves, the following are good candidates for Audino's movepool:
  • Hyper Voice

LOOKING AHEAD: Looking beyond Generation 5, Audino gains no evolution or exclusive Z-Move that is known of at this time. It does, however, have a Mega Evolution that was first seen in Generation 6's Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire.
Thanks for reading, Trainers. Get out your hardhats, because Conkeldurr and its pre-evolutions are up next in our preview series!
