Welcome back, Trainers! It's time to see what Yamask and Cofagrigus will likely be like in Pokémon GO.
YAMASK
ATTACK: 95 |
DEFENSE: 141 |
STAMINA: 116 |
MAX CP: 982 |
COFAGRIGUS
ATTACK: 163 |
DEFENSE: 237 |
STAMINA: 151 |
MAX CP: 2273 |
PLACE IN THE META: In the main-series games, Cofagrigus is most well known for its Mummy Ability. This contagious Ability will infect other Pokémon when attacked, replacing whatever Ability they have with Mummy. But, obviously, Pokémon GO does not have Abilities yet. This means Cofagrigus will be battling without its signature gimmick.
So will it still be any good? Unfortunately, it does not seem so. While its Defense stat is good, its Attack and Stamina stats are below where they need to be to be competitive. Especially with Gengar and Giratina (and likely Chandelure, too) providing such steep competition, Cofagrigus won't be very useful in GO.
LIKELY MOVEPOOL: Out of the Fast Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Cofagrigus:
Out of the Charged Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Cofagrigus:
Should Niantic add any new moves, the following are good candidates for Cofagrigus' movepool:
LOOKING AHEAD: Looking beyond Generation 5, Cofagrigus gains no evolution, exclusive Z-Move, or Mega Evolution that is known of at this time.
