PLACE IN THE META: Escavalier will, unfortunately, not be very useful in GO. Escavalier is very similar to Scizor defensively, and with slightly lower Attack. With lower Attack and large completion comping from other Bug-types, especially the potential powerhouse that Volcarona may become, will render Escavalier far less useful than it could be.

LIKELY MOVEPOOL: Out of the Fast Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Escavalier:
  • Infestation
  • Poison Jab

Out of the Charged Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Escavalier:
  • Drill Run
  • Iron Head
  • X-Scissor

Should Niantic add any new moves, the following are good candidates for Escavalier's movepool:
  • Smart Strike

LOOKING AHEAD: Looking beyond Generation 5, Escavalier gains no evolution, exclusive Z-Move, or Mega Evolution that is known of at this time.
Thanks for reading, Trainers! Foongus and Amoonguss are up next.
