ATTACK:  138

DEFENSE:  131

STAMINA:  338

MAX  CP:  2162

PLACE IN THE META: We should start by addressing the Phanpy in the room: No, Alomomola is not the evolved form of Luvdisc. Yes, it's shocking. Remoraid, a remora, evolves into Octillery, an octopus, but Luvdisc does not evolve into Alomomola.

Enough with the lighthearted callbacks to the Pokémon Black and White reveal cycle. Time to move onto Alomomola's potential in GO, and
unfortunately it is not too promising. While it actually has an outstanding Stamina stat, its Attack and Defense are abysmal. Alomomola is an improvement on Luvdisc to be sure, but it just cannot compete with the likes of Kingler and Kyogre.

LIKELY MOVEPOOL: Out of the Fast Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Alomomola:
  • Hidden Power
  • Waterfall

Out of the Charged Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Alomomola:
  • Hydro Pump
  • Ice Beam
  • Psychic
  • Surf

Should Niantic add any new moves, the following are good candidates for Alomomola's movepool:
  • Liquidation
  • Pain Split

LOOKING AHEAD: Looking beyond Generation 5, Alomomola gains no evolution, exclusive Z-Move, or Mega Evolution that is known of at this time.
Thanks for reading, Trainers! Joltik and Galvantula are up next.
