Gallade is the second evolved form of Kirlia. In the main-series games, a Shiny Stone and male Kirlia was needed for the evolution.

PLACE IN THE META:
Gallade will be good addition to Pokémon GO. Machamp and Blaziken will still be better on the Fighting-type front thanks to their access to Counter, and Mewtwo will be a better Psychic-type attacker thanks to its massive Attack stat. But that does not mean Gallade won't be useful, assuming to gets access to good moves.

Gallade is a Psychic- and Fighting-type. This makes it weak to Flying-, Ghost-, and Fairy-type attacks, as well as resistant to Fighting- and Rock-type attacks.

LIKELY MOVEPOOL: Out of the Fast Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Gallade:
  • Fury Cutter
  • Psycho Cut

Out of the Charged Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Gallade:
  • Close Combat
  • Dazzling Gleam
  • Focus Blast
  • Night Slash
  • Psychic

Should Niantic add any new moves, the following are good candidates for Gallade's movepool:
  • Slash
  • Stored Power

LOOKING AHEAD: Looking beyond Generation 4, Gallade gains no evolution or exclusive Z-Move. It does have a Mega Evolution, which was first seen in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
Thanks for reading, Trainers!
