PLACE IN THE META: Bisharp will be a decent Pokémon, but it may struggle to stand out. Metagross with Meteor Mash will continue to dominate the Steel-type field going into Generation 5, not leaving much room for Bisharp. The Dark-type field is less dominated, which may allow Bisharp to be a decent glass cannon option.

LIKELY MOVEPOOL: Out of the Fast Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Bisharp:
  • Fury Cutter
  • Metal Claw
  • Snarl

Out of the Charged Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Bisharp:
  • Focus Blast
  • Iron Head
  • Night Slash
  • X-Scissor

Should Niantic add any new moves, the following are good candidates for Bisharp's movepool:
  • Guillotine

LOOKING AHEAD: Looking beyond Generation 5, Bisharp gains no evolution, exclusive Z-Move, or Mega Evolution that is known of at this time.
Thanks for reading, Trainers! Bouffalant is up next.
