PLACE IN THE META: Hydreigon is the "pseudo-Legendary" Pokémon of this generation. This means it is following in the footsteps of Dragonite, Tyranitar, Salamence, Metagross, and Garchomp. Like its draconic predecessors, it has a four-times weakness. Hydreigon's is to Fairy-type attacks. Unfortunately for Hydreigon, we just had the addition of Charm; However, thankfully for it, we only have two viable Fairy-type counters to it (Gardevoir and Togekiss).
But enough with all the background. Will Hydreigon be useful? As a Dragon-type, probably not. With how many powerful Dragons are already competing in that field, Hydreigon won't be able to stand out. That's not to say it will be bad, just that there are better options. As a Dark-type attacker is where Hydriegon will shine, as it will have less competition.
