Welcome back, Trainers! In this article, we'll take a look at what Riolu and Lucario will be like in Pokémon GO.
RIOLU
ATTACK: 127 |
DEFENSE: 78 |
STAMINA: 80 |
MAX CP: 833 |
Riolu is classified as a baby Pokémon, which means it shouldn't be available in the wild and only via Eggs. As for which category of Eggs, we could see Riolu fall into any of the four distance pools. As for its Buddy distance, we would expect it to take 3KM or 5KM to find a Candy when being walked.
LUCARIO
ATTACK: 236 |
DEFENSE: 144 |
STAMINA: 140 |
MAX CP: 2461 |
PLACE IN THE META: Lucario is an incredibly popular Pokémon. However, it won't be the most useful Pokémon. As a Fighting-type, it will be outclassed by Pokémon such as Machamp and Blaziken. And as a Steel-type, it will be outclassed by Pokémon such as Metagross.
We would compare Lucario most to Flygon. Both are very popular Pokémon, not the kings in either of their typings, and a bit lacking on the defensive front. When Flygon was introduced, we warned against powering it up due to the presence of Garchomp coming in Generation 4. We offer a similar warning with Lucario, who will be threatened by Cobalion in Generation 5.
With that being said, Lucario won't be useless. Its Attack stat is respectable, as could be a useful Fighting- and Steel-type attacker, should it be given the right moves.
Lucario is a Steel- and Fighting-type. This makes it weak to Fire-, Fighting-, and Ground-type attacks; resistant to Normal-, Steel-, Dragon-, Ice-, Grass-, and Dark-type attacks; as well as highly-resistant to Bug- and Rock-type attacks.
LIKELY MOVEPOOL: Out of the Fast Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Lucario:
Out of the Charged Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Lucario:
Should Niantic add any new moves, the following are good candidates for Lucario's movepool:
LOOKING AHEAD: Looking beyond Generation 4, Lucario gains no evolution or exclusive Z-Move. It does have a Mega Evolution, which was first seen in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y.
