PLACE IN THE META: Spiritomb might be useful in Pokémon GO. It has a phenomenal typing that gives it very few weaknesses and an "immunity" to two of the most meta-relevant types. That, combined with its pretty decent defenses, could make it a decent Gym defender. But we don't see it getting any use beyond that, unfortunately.

Spiritomb is a Dark- and Ghost-type. This makes it weak to Fairy-type attacks; resistant to Poison-type attacks; as well as "immune" to Psychic-, Fighting-, and Normal-type attacks.

LIKELY MOVEPOOL: Out of the Fast Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Spiritomb:
  • Infestation
  • Snarl

Out of the Charged Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Spiritomb:
  • Dark Pulse
  • Giga Impact
  • Ominous Wind
  • Shadow Ball
  • Shadow Sneak

Should Niantic add any new moves, the following are good candidates for Spiritomb's movepool:
  • Pursuit

LOOKING AHEAD: Looking beyond Generation 4, Spiritomb gains no evolution, exclusive Z-Move, or Mega Evolution.
Thanks for reading, Trainers!
