PLACE IN THE META: Aside from the oddly-placed Victini, Keldeo is the first Mythical Pokémon we've come to in the Unova Pokédex. While its stats are pretty good, that's really the only thing notable about this Pokémon. Like its fellow Swords of Justice, it has a very big problem with Fighting-type moves.

And it also has a Water-type move problem, pretty much dooming this Pokémon to obscurity. Its only saving grace is if Niantic adds some new moves to give it.

Note: Keldeo has two forms: The Ordinary Forme and the Resolute Forme. The form change happens in the main-series when Keldeo knows the exclusive move Secret Sword. When it knows this move, it'll be in its Resolute Forme. It's
unclear how the form change will work in Pokémon GO.

LIKELY MOVEPOOL: Out of the Fast Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Keldeo:
  • Hidden Power
  • Poison Jab

Out of the Charged Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Keldeo:
  • Close Combat
  • Hydro Pump
  • Surf

Should Niantic add any new moves, the following are good candidates for Keldeo's movepool:
  • Double Kick
  • Liquidation
  • Sacred Sword
  • Secret Sword

LOOKING AHEAD: Looking beyond Generation 5, Keldeo gains no evolution, exclusive Z-Move, or Mega Evolution that is known of at this time.
Thanks for reading, Trainers! Meloetta is up next.
