PLACE IN THE META: Azelf is the best of the Lake Guardians. High Attack is the most important quality of a Legendary Pokémon in Pokémon GO, and Azelf has the highest out of all three of the Guardians. It is a bit lacking on the defensive front, and still won't outclass Mewtwo, but it should still be usable.

Azelf is a pure Psychic-type. This makes it weak to Dark-, Bug-, and Ghost-type attacks, as well as resistant to Psychic- and Fighting-type attacks.

​LIKELY MOVEPOOL: Out of the Fast Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Azelf:

• Charge Beam
• Confusion
• Extrasensory

Out of the Charged Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Azelf:

• Future Sight
• Psychic
• Last Resort
• Shadow Ball

Should Niantic add any new moves, the following are good candidates for Azelf's movepool:
