The first wave of EX Raid Passes for Deoxys were sent out yesterday. And let's just say things didn't go so well...
ACTIVE RAIDS
Some EX Passes were ongoing or starting in mere minutes when Trainers received them. For the Trainers who managed to rush to the Raid in time did not find Deoxys, but rather Mewtwo or one of the other lower-tier Raid Bosses. Niantic Support tweeted out the following response:
Hi Trainers, if you received an EX Raid Pass at a Gym that currently has an active Raid, the time of your EX Raid will update once that Raid ends. The next EX Raid will take place on either October 1 or 2. Thanks for your patience!
CANCELLATIONS
That tweet turned out to be inaccurate; EX Raids ended up getting cancelled instead. Some EX Raids still seem to be scheduled, but this entire situation should be fixed. In our opinion, Niantic should cancel all EX Raids that were scheduled today after they fix the bug, and then send out a new wave.
Niantic tweeted this as a follow-up to their last tweet:

Hi Trainers, sorry for the confusion today. We know that some of you received EX Raid Pass cancellations. We're looking into this and will provide an update as soon as we can. Thanks for your patience!
INVITING FRIENDS
The inviting-friends feature went live along with these EX Passes, and provided some more insight into how it works. The most important thing to know is, unfortunately, you can only invite a friend once. Even if a friend declines you're invitation, you will not be able to invite a different Ultra or Best Friend.
However, on the positive end, you can also invite a friend that was invited to a different EX Raid. This means you can do two EX Raids in one day!

Thanks for reading, Trainers!
