We have some exciting news to report! The next Community Day has been announced, new information about Meltan has come out, and a new, upcoming feature for Pokémon GO has been announced.
COMMUNITY DAY
The next Community Day has been announced! Cyndaquil is the featured Pokémon, with the additional effects being three-hour Lures, double catch Stardust, and double catch XP. The additional hour to evolve from the Beldum Community Day is returning. As a reminder, November's Community Day is on November 10.
Speaking of Community Day, Beldum's event last weekend had some serious issues in parts of the Asia-Pacific region. Niantic is hosting another event as compensation on October 28, 2018, for the Asia-Pacific region only.

MELMETAL
The silhouette at the end of the real-life Meltan trailer has been revealed to be Meltan's Evolution: Melmetal. This marks the first-ever time a Mythical Pokémon has been able to evolve. Meltan can only evolve in Pokémon GO, and it requires 400 Candy.
Melmetal has an exclusive move called Double Iron Bash. This move has only been confirmed for Pokémon: Let's Go so far. It will hit two times in that game, with a chance to flinch the opposing Trainer's Pokémon.

ADVENTURE SYNC
Finally, we have some news announced today. Niantic will soon be implementing a new feature called Adventure Sync. The feature will take advantage of the Google Fit and Apple Health technology to track your distance walked over the course of each week, even when the game is inactive.
