NEWS | GO
Welcome, Trainers! There have been quite a few headlines stemming from the world of Pokémon GO recently. Here's a quick recap:
Discoveries in New Update
Here's what data miners have found in the code of the latest update:
Galarian Forms: The Galarian forms of Weezing, Zigzagoon, and Linoone have been spotted in the code. Galarian form Pokémon are being introduced to the franchise next month with the release of Pokémon Sword and Shield, suggesting that GO may have a promotional event to coincide with the release of the new mainline games.
Only those three Galarian Pokémon were spotted in the code. Support for Galarian Ponyta, Obstagoon, Sirfetch'd, and the known roster of new Pokémon coming in Sword and Shield is not present. No unrevealed Pokémon were spotted in the code either.
Team GO Rocket: Numerous lines of code for new additions to the Team GO Rocket feature have been added. Namely, support for various things that have been recently teased on Pokémon GO's social channels: the Leaders and the Rocket Radar.
Miscellaneous: Two new moves -- Flying Press and Aura Sphere -- were added. Aura Sphere is a move widely associated with the Pokémon Lucario and Flying Press is the signature move of Hawlucha, a Pokémon from the Kalos region (the sixth generation).
A fourth tier for the weekly walking awards was added. Rewards from this new tier are unknown. Currently, players will need to walk 100 km to accomplish this new task.

GO Battle League
Niantic have announced the next big advancement to Trainer Battles: the GO Battle League. Launching in 2020, this feature will bring global leaderboards and online battling to the game's player-versus-player battles. In keeping with the game's theme of "get up and go," Trainers will have to walk to gain access to this update when it launches.
Event Updates
To conclude this news roundup, here is a status update on three of Pokémon GO's events:
A Colossal Discovery: Tickets for the "A Colossal Discovery" story event are now on sale in the in-game Shop. They cost $7.99 USD or the equivalent in the currency your app store uses. The event takes place November 2.
Halloween 2019: The Halloween event is currently ongoing. As a reminder, it is scheduled to end a week from now on November 1 at 1:00 p.m. PDT.
Community Day: Finally, Chimchar has been named the featured Pokémon of the next Community Day, which is scheduled for November 16. Infernape will receive an exclusive move during this event, though it has yet to be officially named. Though, given the Chimchar family is one of the Fire-type starters, it will almost certainly be Blast Burn.
The event will have the bonus effects of 1/4 Egg-hatching distance and three-hour Lure effectiveness.
