NEWS | GO
Starting today, the roster of available Legendary Pokémon in Pokémon GO is undergoing a shakeup -- in both Raids and Research Breakthroughs. Here's what you need to know:
Cobalion is Coming
The Legendary Pokémon Cobalion is coming to the game. This is the first Legendary Pokémon from the Unova region (the fifth generation) to appear in Pokémon GO.
At 1:00 p.m. PDT today, Darkrai will leave Raids and be replaced by Regice, Regirock, and Registeel. The three titans will remain in Raids throughout the weekend, with their Shiny variants being available. Cobalion will then make its debut at 1:00 p.m. PST on Monday. It will be available until Tuesday, November 26.
What comes after is unknown at this time. Though, Cobalion is part of a group of Legendary Pokémon dubbed the Swords of Justice, a fact Niantic was sure to emphasize. The other members, Terrakion and Virizion, will likely follow. As for the group's fourth member, the Mythical Pokémon Keldeo, the time and method of its release are more uncertain due to the Mythical classification that has often led to Pokémon being held back and released later in Special Research.

Legendary Breakthroughs are Back!
On the topic of Legendary Pokémon, they are making their return to the Research Breakthrough feature, also beginning at 1:00 p.m. PDT today.
The breakthrough box will award one Legendary Pokémon from the pool of Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Kyogre, and Groudon. This group will remain the encounter reward pool until January 1, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PST.
This group of Legendary Pokémon is replacing Eevee wearing a flower crown, who was made the breakthrough reward a few months ago. That breakthrough reward was widely criticized in the community for being a standard Pokémon in a costume rather than a useful Legendary Pokémon.
