NEWS | GO
Pokémon GO's villainous troubles are not over yet. Giovanni, the boss of Team Rocket, is coming to the mobile game along with three new leaders: Cliff, Arlo, and Sierra.
Hidden Leaders
In order to find and battle the three GO Rocket Leaders, players will need to obtain a new item: the Rocket Radar. This can be assembled from six Mysterious Components, items that will be rewarded from defeating GO Rocket Grunts.
Once the Rocket Radar is assembled, players will be able to search out Leaders at occupied PokéStops and engage with them in battle. Upon completing the battle, players will be given a reward -- which can include a coveted Unova Stone -- as well as an encounter with a Shadow Meowth, Sneasel, or Scyther. Trainers have reported encounters with Shiny variants of these Shadow Pokémon.
The Rocket Radar will be consumed after the battle.

Battle the Boss
A new Special Research storyline has been made available. This quest storyline offers a reward of the Super Rocket Radar, an item used to find and battle Giovanni. Upon completion of the battle, players will earn an encounter with a Legendary Shadow Pokémon. Unlike the reward encounters from the leaders, this Pokémon cannot be Shiny.
The Super Rocket Radar will also be consumed after use. This new Special Research is only available once players complete "A Troubling Situation," a storyline released earlier in the year.

A Buddy Adventure
The latest villainous deeds of Team GO Rocket are not the only news today. Niantic also announced a new feature known as Buddy Adventure is coming to Pokémon GO in the next few months. This feature seems to be GO's adaptation of Pokémon Amie from the main-series titles.
Buddy Adventure will allow for multiple Pokémon to be placed in an AR environment, even Pokémon belonging to other Trainers. You will be able to pet them, feed them Berries, and take photographs of them.
