1. Pokemon go park japan: new raid bosses and shiny pikachu family!
Pokémon GO Park looks to be the best of the three real-world events we have had so far. Rare spawns like Mareep and Chansey, along with tons of starters and Mr. Mime have overrun the virtual Yokohama. Special Raid Bosses (Dragonite, Ursaring, Wobbuffet, Golem, etc.) and the Shiny Pikachu family are exclusive to the city. The three new Shinies will most likely be released worldwide after the event, and hopefully the new Raid Bosses, too.
2. bugs, glitches, and "shiny" zapdos
THE LAST PREMIER BALL: The final Premier Ball will never catch a Raid Boss, unless a critical catch occurs. Niantic has finally acknowledged this weird glitch, and are awarding an extra ball for defeating the Raid Boss. This glitch should be fixed soon.
"SHINY" ZAPDOS: You may have noticed already, but all Zapdos are Shiny. At least, they are using the Shiny model instead of the regular one. These Zapdos are not actually Shiny, as evident by the lack of the sparkles covering the model. This is clearly an issue with Niantic's coding and should be fixed soon. Speaking of Zapdos, it leaves tomorrow, so get those Raids in while you can (remember, Zapdos will be great against Ho-Oh and Suicune when they're released).

3. hints at a new "super incubator"
ZeChrales, the data miner who originally discovered the Shiny Pikachu family sprites, has found something else interesting. The game is now downloading text assets from the server for a "Super Incubator." This new Incubator would break after one use, but would allow for Eggs to be hatched with a reduced distance. No graphical assets are included in the game's code, but will likely be added with the next update.
4. hints at "more legendary adventures" in the newsletter
If you never check your email, you may not know about the Pokémon GO newsletter that is periodically sent out to recap the latest news about the game. The latest edition, sent out on August 10, highlighted some Trainers' experiences, the Chester event, and the release of Legendaries.
In regards to Legendaries, the paragraph said that Zapdos is currently available. It also said, "Be prepared for more legendary adventures!" Hints at a possible Ho-Oh release, maybe more? We'll have to see!

5. fake leaks and clickbait about generation 3
Some misinformed media outlets have published articles recently saying that Generation 3 will be released in September. Although this is possible, no credible leak has surfaced that supports this. September is next month, but we still don't have any preliminary coding for Treecko, Deoxys, and everything in-between. (Coding for Gen 2 and Raids appeared months before they we actually released).
And fueling these "rumors" is the clickbait of the controversial YouTuber FsuAtl. He did publish a video claiming in the title and thumbnail that there is a secret update allowing Generation 3 to be unlocked, which is totally false. Whether you agree with his stance on spoofing or not, this video (and many of his other old ones) proves that he is a clickbaiter and a liar.

6. pNN Project: new "events" page
Time to update you on what PNN is working on. After a brief "vacation" from working on the Generation Preparation information, we have again begun work on this. Also, we have added a new Events page. This new page highlights all the past and present Pokémon GO events.
