1.   Groudon

Somewhat unexpectedly, the Legendary Pokémon Groudon has been released. This Ground-type dragon is available in regular, Tier 5 Raids. The star of Pokémon Ruby is available until January 15, 2018, at 1:00 P.M. PT.

2.   A  new  sale

A new sale has gone live along with Groudon. It is a short and small sale, with only one box. The box contains Premium Raid Passes, Pinap Berries, and Incenses. Although it is a good deal, if you are short on PokéCoins, you may want to wait for the holiday event. This sale ends tomorrow (December 18, 2017).

3.   EX  Raids  on  Christmas  day

As if the EX Raid system need any more bad press! The latest wave of EX Raids invitations were sent out yesterday, with the Raid itself to take place on Christmas Day. Although not everyone observes this holiday, expect a vast majority of these Raids to be short on attendance, cancelled, and / or rescheduled.

4.   Special  evolution  mechanics  incoming

Niantic's support page was updated this week to include special evolution mechanics for Clamperl and Feebas. Clamperl, as in the main-series, will need either a Deep Sea Scale or a Deep Sea Tooth to evolve into Gorebyss or Huntail, respectively. Feebas will need to be walked as a buddy before it can evolve into Milotic.

5.   version  5.0.3  of  pokemon  duel

One of the Pokémon mobile games, Pokémon Duel, got an update this week. In addition to new Plates, a new Booster Pack, and the Fairy Gym Cup, the following figures were added:
  - Mega Scizor (UX)
  - Scizor (EX)
  - Magearna (EX)
  - Mr. Mime (R)
  - Metang (R)
  - Mime Jr. (UC)
  - Beldum (UC)
  - Togedemaru (UC)

6.   The  official  reveal  of  ultra  necrozma  &  Naganadel

The Pokémon Company released a seemingly-overdue trailer for Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon this week. It finally revealed Ultra Necrozma and Poipole's evolution, Naganadel, officially. This only leaves Zeraora left to be revealed.

This trailer has drawn some controversy. The Naganadel shown was in a Beast Ball, which is an impossibility at this point. Anti-hackers were quick to call out the Pokémon Company for hacking themselves. While we do not agree with the company's decision or negligence, we may remind you that the game trailers often do not show the actual game storyline.

7.   The  newest  trading  card  game  set:  sun  &  moon  ultra  prism

The newest TCG set got its English reveal this week. The set introduced over 150 new cards, 10 of which are GX.

From Japanese leaks, we know that the set features many Sinnoh-themed cards (such as Dialga GX, Trainer Cynthia, and more). Those cards have set off wild speculation about remakes of Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl coming soon to the Nintendo Switch.

8.   Pokemon  crystal  coming  to  the  virtual  console

The third Johto game, Pokémon Crystal, is relaunching on the Nintendo 3DS' Virtual Console. The game, like the relaunches of Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver from earlier this year, are exact copies from the original games from back in the day. This includes the encounter-able Celebi, which was only available in Japan before. The game comes out on January 26, 2018.
