2. Ongoing events
HOENN TAKEOVER: Until February 13, the Pokémon of the Hoenn Region are the only ones spawning (this excludes the region-exclusives from Kanto and Johto). This has made Swablu ridiculously common, but it does increase the opportunity to find a Shiny Swablu.
LEGENDARY RAIDS: Rayquaza Raids are active until March 16, 2018. Kyogre is still around, but only until February 14.
SALE & LURES: Until February 23, Lure Modules last for six hours. A sale will also be ongoing during that time. They will end one day before the next Community Day!

5. Region-exclusive pokemon
More changes were made to region-exclusive Pokémon this week. Volbeat has become exclusive to the eastern region (Europe and the Asia-Pacific region). Illumise has become exclusive to the western region (the Americas and Africa).
Tropius has also become a region-exclusive. Its region is centralized around Africa, although it does expand somewhat into southern Europe.
In our final bit of regional news, Plusle and Minun are now available globally. This could be permanent, or it could be temporary. Make sure to catch one while you can, just in case.

6. Quest code found!
The latest update to Pokémon GO has brought some code for quests. The quests, while not active, can involve storylines, Professor Willow, and a variety of awards.
7. EX Raids
This week featured another double-wave of EX Passes. The first wave was plagued by a bug, and let Trainers get an EX Pass from almost any Gym that they've ever interacted with.
Shortly before the second wave went out, Niantic acknowledged the bug and said that they were making some changes to the distribution algorithm so more Trainers will be able to get a Pass.

8. Ditto dawns a new disguise
For a couple weeks, we've been planning an article called "Did Niantic Forget About Ditto?" Niantic finally gave us a reason not to publish it!
Until now, Ditto could not be disguised as a Pokémon from Generation 3. But now it can now dawn the disguise of Taillow.

9. Weekend Trivia
This Pokémon is incredibly determined, and will never back down from a foe until it faints. When hungry, it hunts for Wurmple to eat. Who's that Pokémon: Taillow, Noctowl, Swablu, or Fletchinder?
This week, voters were in favor of the correct answer: Taillow!
