1. The first Pokemon go community day
Yesterday was the first Community Day in Pokémon GO. It seemed to be a massive success, with many Trainers coming out in our local area for the first time in months. The featured Pokémon, Pikachu, was overwhelmingly common. Shiny Pikachu also had greatly increased odds of appearing, with many Trainers catching multiple.
We are very excited for February's Community Day, because the possibilities we explored earlier this week have even greater potential of becoming reality. We'll explore those possibilities even more in the upcoming days, so stay tuned.

3. The Nintendo Switch's new mode
Nintendo announced on Wednesday that a new feature is coming to the Nintendo Switch. Known as Nintendo Labo, the feature is a virtual-reality update. Users will be able to construct things like stands or armor to place their console in, which perform actions in your game when moved. Nintendo Labo will launch later this year.
It will be very interesting to see how GAME FREAK incorporates this feature, if they do, in future main-series Pokémon games. We know that the next main-series games will be on the Switch, and launch as early as 2018. It may be too late to have Labo capabilities for these games, but future ones definitely will. Stay tuned for more details about the upcoming game here on PNN.
