1. Moltres
Moltres Raids went live on Monday. The new bird is much easier to beat than Articuno and Lugia with its lower defensive stats. In fact, a group of two people managed to beat a Moltres by themselves. Go out and get your Moltres if you haven't already, because they leave tomorrow. Zapdos will arrive then, likely around the time Moltres dropped (4:20 P.M. PST).
2. pokemon go Safari zone: Unown and kangaskhan throughout Europe
As the compensation for the delay of the first two dates of the Safari Zone events, Niantic has brought some crazy spawns to Europe. Kangaskhan and the Unown that spell "Europe" are spawning like Pidgey and Rattata in over 40 European cities. These ridiculous spawns will last for the next two weeks. Lure-a-thons at Unibail-Rodamco malls will also happen on the weekend.
3. pokemon go park: a part of the annual pikachu outbreak
As a part of the annual Pikachu Outbreak in Japan, Pokémon GO Park will be held in two parks in Yokohama. Mr. Mime and special 2KM Eggs will be available. The event lasts from the ninth of August to the fifteenth of August. This event is separate from and does not affect the Pokémon GO Stadium event.
4. new glitches
DODGING: The dodging mechanic in Raids has never been perfect, but it seems to have gotten worse in the latest update. Dodged damage is awarded on top of un-dodged damage (which is sometimes doubled). Until Niantic fixes this, your best bet may be not to dodge.
THE FINAL PREMIER BALL: Pokémon GO Hub released an article this week stating that the final Premier Ball will always fail when catching the Raid Boss. Of all the video on the Internet, PNN could not find one showing the final ball catching the Boss in the Bonus Challenge. It seems this may be true, so treat your ball-count as one less than what it is for now.

5. pokemon go in china?
Pokémon GO was banned in China awhile ago due to "consumer safety" and "national security." A redditor published his account of his experience their. According to that account, all Gyms are active (but unclaimed), Raids occur, PokéStops award items, and Pokémon (including Farfetch'd) spawned. The game wasn't perfect, but cities like Taiyuan did have an active game. This could be a sign of Niantic trying to get the game unbanned in the region.
6. data for five legendaries removed from the GAME_MASTER File
Unfortunately, Niantic has removed the base capture rates (BCR) for five of the unreleased Legendary Pokémon. Mewtwo, Entei, Raikou, Ho-Oh, and Suicune all had their BCRs this week. This most likely means Niantic has no plans of releasing these Legendaries soon, although they have added Legendary data to the GAME_MASTER file at the last minute before.
7. ultra sun & ultra moon: Dusk Lycanroc revealed
PNN is a Pokémon GO source, although we will cover the new main-series games here in Weekend Download.
Last night (or early morning in Japan), the Pokémon Company released a new form of Lycanroc. This new form is a hybrid form of the other Midday and Midnight forms. The Pokémon website says the form will debut in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, but will not be acquirable through regular methods. Its new mechanic has not yet been revealed.
IN THE ANIME (SPOILER ALERT): When the new Lycanroc was revealed in a Japanese TV show, we also learned that Ash's Rockruff will evolve into a Dusk Lycanroc after a meeting with the other two forms and Tapu Lele.
SPECULATION: After a lot of speculation by Paul Ryan and Verlisify on YouTube and Twitter, the new Lycanroc form was revealed. People are now speculating that a Dawn Lycanroc may soon be revealed. This seems incredibly unlikely, as the Japanese name for this new form translates to "dusk," "dawn," and "twilight." We'll have to see.
Also, no trailer was released on YouTube, and with CoroCoro magazine still not fully released, it seems likely we may get more news over the next few days.
