1. WATER FESTIVAL
Water-type Pokémon have flooded the real world! The 2018 Water Festival is now live in Pokémon GO until June 21 at 1:00 PM PDT. This event makes Water-type Pokémon spawn at increased rates and give triple the normal amount of Stardust upon capture. This includes many possibly-Shiny Pokémon, including the brand-new Shiny Shellder.
Water-type Pokémon have also flooded the 2KM Egg roster. Any Egg hatched during this event will award double Candy and Stardust. In addition to this, there are many new Water-type Raid Bosses. This includes the return of Kyogre, which can now be found as a Shiny Pokémon.

2. 2019 SWITCH GAME
Tsunekazu Ishihara, the CEO of the Pokémon Company, did an interview with a Japanese publication this week where he provided new details about Pokémon on the Switch in 2019. He reconfirmed that there will be new, main-series games coming out in the latter half of 2019. These games are aimed at veteran fans of the franchise, and will have better graphics than any other past game. This game will also be a brand-new experience with many brand-new Pokémon, which heavily implies that these games will be the Eighth Generation of Pokémon.
