WEEKEND DOWNLOAD

OCTOBER 7-14

1.   GENERATION  4

The Pokémon of the Sinnoh region are coming to Pokémon GO in the near future! In a short teaser trailer and series of tweets, we've been able to see glimpses of Turtwig, Piplup, Chimchar, and Giratina in a nature documentary-like style.

An update was released later in the week that brought support for the Generation 4 Pokémon and more. Click here to read our Update Report for the latest version.

2.   NEW  MELTAN  INFO

We now have confirmation that Meltan is the Pokémon obtained when you send a Mystery Box from Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee! to Pokémon GO. That Mystery Box acts like an Incense that lures many Meltan to your location for 30 minutes.

The Meltan you catch can be sent to any Let's Go game. You can also send a Mystery Box to any GO account that does not currently have one in its inventory. The end of one of the trailers also reveals a new form or evolution to Meltan.

3.   GAME  BALANCE

In addition to the tease at Generation 4, Niantic also announced some game balance changes coming to Pokémon GO. They come in the form of attempting to diversify spawns, make defensive Pokémon more useful, and make HP less overpowered.

4.   FEMALE  EVENT

A female-focused mini-event took place in Pokémon GO this week, seemingly celebrating the International Day of the Girl. Female Pokémon, such as Ralts and Luvdisc, spawned in increased rates. The Shiny variants of the Nidoran♀ family were released, and Shiny Nidorina and Nidoqueen could even spawn in the wild!

5.   EX  RAID  PASSES

More EX Raid Passes went out this week that will give Trainers the opportunity to battle and catch the Mythical Pokémon Deoxys. This wave was a double wave, and it was a lot less glitchy than the previous wave. Niantic Support has also said the cancellation bug is fixed, although there have been scattered reports of the cancellation bug still happening.
