PLACE IN THE META: Lopunny will not be useful in Pokémon GO. Normal-types are un-useful in this game, and Lopunny's mediocre stats don't do anything to boost its viability.

Lopunny is a pure Normal-type. This makes it weak to Fighting-type attacks, as well as "immune" to Ghost-type attacks. All other types of attacks will do neutral damage.

LIKELY MOVEPOOL: Out of the Fast Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Lopunny:
  • Pound
  • Quick Attack

Out of the Charged Moves we currently have in Pokémon GO, the following are the ones that seem most likely to be given to Lopunny:
  • Hyper Beam
  • Ice Beam
  • Low Sweep
  • Shadow Ball

Should Niantic add any new moves, the following are good candidates for Lopunny's movepool:
  • Bounce
  • Dizzy Punch
  • High Jump Kick

LOOKING AHEAD: Looking beyond Generation 4, Lopunny gains no evolution or exclusive Z-Move. Lopunny does have a Normal-and-Fighting-type Mega Evolution in the future, which was first seen in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
